Getting a ranking of 6 is achievable with some careful site development and getting some quality links pointing to your site, but it does not guarantee traffic.

I have seen sites with a ranking of 6 that are getting under 50 unique visitors per day. The quality of the content and obviously the popularity of the subject matter will also effect the amount of people searching for your content.

Effect PR was a straightforward PR website outlining the improvement of your website for search engine robots. As of 27th Jan 2005 the site has a Google Ranking of 6 but only 63 unique visitors in an average week.

The page rank does not mean visitors, and if you are looking to generate extra traffic to your site then work on content and quality body of text rather than developing links from other sites. When you have a site like essexuncovered.com with plenty of useful content, the amount of sites that link to you without you even knowing is amazing. I still can not believe when I look in the back links via Google at some of the sites linking to essexuncovered. What I have found is there are many sites who will borrow their content from a search string from Google or DMOZ to develop content for their site. There pages will develop ranking and pass this off to your site.
