Newly launched Search Engine Service
Shopcreator, the UK’s leading provider of e-business software and infrastructure, has launched a comprehensive new Search Engine Registration Service to assist online businesses with obtaining maximum exposure with the search engines. The service has been designed in response to the results of Shopcreator research into the increasing complexity of search engine technology and the recent changes in the operational aspects of website marketing technology.
Rather than taking a general educational approach, Shopcreator is instead passing on its expertise in a personalised service for individual clients; designed to address specific as well as generic issues. The service includes a review of the client’s site, including keyword and template optimisation and registration, as well as advice on how the client can keep their e-business site in the right shape to create ongoing maximum impact with the key search engines. The site optimisation will then be reviewed by Shopcreator twice more during the annual service in order to proactively monitor site performance against the regular changes in technology applied by the search engine providers.
Andy Kitchener, CEO at Shopcreator explains the reasons behind Shopcreator’s launch of the service, which has been designed following an intensive research campaign into the changing landscape of search engine technology, "This area of the market is developing at a rapid pace. Shopcreator has always offered a standard search engine registration service, but recent changes in how the search engines are ranking sites and the relevance of individual search engine providers are making this type of general education less effective. After researching the market, we have designed a more dynamic and personalised approach to enable clients to gain maximum impact with the search engines and to provide them with the knowledge of how to maintain this impact."
Shopcreator already has a number of clients who have tested this new service, prior to launch. One such client www.cameradepot.co.uk is an online business selling over 500 photo-video products to support its established retail and mail order business, Sussex Camera Centre.
Camera Depot approached Shopcreator in late 2003 to assist them with an underperforming online business. As well as designing and delivering a new web site, Shopcreator worked directly with Camera Depot to create a personalised search engine registration programme.
Sean Smith, e-Commerce Manager at Camera Depot comments on the outcome of this programme and the positive effect it has had on business, "The previous e-business web site had been heavily reliant on referrals and this was something we wanted to change. The way in which the new website has been designed, built and marketed has resulted in a substantial increase in the number of site visitors. Since switching solution, our site is now performing extremely well in terms of search engine rankings and we regularly appear on the first page of Google. The programme has helped us attract the right type of customers in the first instance and in just 4 months we have experienced a 20% increase in orders, and a 35% increase in online revenue, turning our financial year around."
