How is Monoi de Tahiti®
produced?
- Monoļ de Tahiti production consists of
soaking approximately ten "tiare" (Gardenia Taitensis) blossoms in one
liter of refined coconut oil that is purified by filtration. The final
mixture is ready to be used as a natural, unadulterated ingredient with
unique benefits and properties for skin and hair. Only two specific ingredients can be used in the
production of Monoļ de Tahiti : coconut from the "Cocos Nucifera" variety and
the "Gardena Taitensis" (Flore de candolle) variety.
Is Monoi de Tahiti® just a
glorified coconut oil?
- Although many
countries can effectively produce coconut oil comparable to that use in
production of Monoļ de Tahiti, none of them can lay claim to the indigenous
Gardena Taitensis flower [also commonly known as Tiare] that is found only in
French Polynesia. This specific variety of Gardena is unique not only for its
potent fragrance but also for its special cosmetic attributes.
French decree No. 92-340 protects the production of Monoļ de Tahiti with an
"Appellation d'Origine" [a guarantee of Origin] which outlines the specific
production guidelines for the manufacturing of Monoļ de Tahiti, thus ensuring
high quality standards as well as authenticity. A registered trademark in the
USA, Australia, New Zealand, and soon in other countries also protects Monoļ de
Tahiti.
Is Monoi de Tahiti® greasy or
sticky?
- Even though Monoi de
Tahiti® is coconut oil based, it is not greasy when applied properly in small
amounts and unlike other natural vegetal oils, does NOT clog pores. It
can hydrate and protect the skin effectively.
