At the western end of an elongated bay, right on the beach,
you find this holiday apartment, in a relaxed, calm and beautiful
holiday village. The rear of the building is protected by a steep
cliff and in front there is an astonishing view over the bay of
Calahonda and the Mediterranean sea.
To the northeast, up towards the Sierra de la Contraviesa , one
sees the sugar cane fields and greenhouse crops of the rich local
agriculture. The holiday home is situated directly on the kilometre-long
sand and pebble beach known as the" Playa de Carchuna".
The large oval swimming pool lies between palms and bougainvillea
in the middle of the large sun terrace. All guests may use it.
The pool is open from Easter to the 30th of September.
Our vacation home "CASA LA CHUCHA" is comfortable and
very nicely furnished.
The apartment offers one big bedroom with a double and a single
bed so that it gives space for 3 persons or a couple and
a child. The bathroom is connected to the bedroom.
The living room has a well equipped open-plan kitchen, dining area
and 2 sofas. There is a good selection of books in English.
There is a DVD player and screen (DVD rental available in Carchuna).
The living room and bedroom both have a large window front overlooking
the sea and a balcony door to the spacious and private south
facing terrace (6 x 2 metres). This very sheltered balcony offers
marvellous views of the blue Mediterranean Sea.
The apartment is on the upper floor and offers peace and privacy
right at the edge of the sea.
In summer, a quiet and very pleasant beach bar opens on the opposite
side of the holiday village.
Parking is about 30 metres from the flat.
The village of Carchuna is only 2 km inland. The next small resort,
the village of Calahonda, is 3 km away.
There is also a path to Calahonda along the beach. At its heart
is the old fishing village, still recognisable as such. At the beach
there are some nice "Chiringitos" (typical small beach
restaurants) with an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere.
The nearest town, Motril, is 5 km away, while to Granada and the
Sierra Nevada the distance is 75 km.
