If you've been "spammed" by someone you don't know, don't reply to the sender or follow any removal instructions that might be included. Instead, use the "This Is Spam" link to report the mail to Yahoo!. Yahoo! closely monitors the messages that you report to find the latest tricks and techniques that spammers are using to evade our filters. With this information, Yahoo! can update our filters to prevent that message from arriving in your inbox again.
If the spam or abusive email is being sent from a Yahoo! Mail account (i.e., user@yahoo.com), the "This Is Spam" report will receive special attention. We will evaluate the message and take appropriate action per our Terms of Service.
If, however, the unsolicited email originates from a Yahoo! International Mail account (e.g., user@yahoo.co.uk, userexample@yahoo.de, etc.) please send a report to the appropriate Yahoo! Customer Care team.
You may also wish to contact the sender's ISP. How do you find out whom to contact? Look at the domain. This is the part after the "@" sign in an email address or the last part of the server name in a URL. For example, the email address example@example.com has a domain of "example.com."
Once you know the domain, email the entire message (including full headers) to "abuse@" that domain name and explain your situation. For example, if you received spam from spammer@example.com, send the original email and your complaint to abuse@example.com. The ISP may have further requirements, but this is the person or group you need to contact. Please note that spammers frequently forge their identity, and thus the ISP you contact many not be able to take any action.
