For every game or utility purchased from your website we give you a commission of 40% for the first two months; all you have to do is to advertise our applications on your website. eSellerate Service assists in carrying out the affiliate program. There are also other e-commerce websites, but right now we work trough eSellerate.
If you successfully promote our game in the first two months we will maintain a 40% commission afterwards, if not, we will drop the commision to 20%. The market price for X-plosive JigSaw is 30 usd. 40 % of 30 usd is around 12 usd for each license sold.
How does it work?
The shareware concept is wide spread and it works very well in the gaming industry; free Trial Versions are released to the public and tried by visitors and the people who want to purchase the full versions will follow a link back to our website where they will order the full version.
First thing you need to do is to go to the e-commerce site ( in our case eSellerate ) and open an affiliate account there. Read carefully the documentation provided by them!!! A very good idea is to make your website PAD file compliant. That makes the software submission to your website really easy and the software list easily to maintain ( again, read the documentation provided eSellerate ).
After you have your affiliate account setup, give us a mail ( and all the other authors that you want to sell software for; we have no problems if you help the competition to make money as long as you and us make them too ), we'll submit our pad file to your website and that's about it for the setup.
All there is left to do is to promote the Trial Version of our applications through your information resources ( web sites, newsletters, CD-ROMs, message boards, banner exchange, discussion groups etc... ). All the people who try them and want the full version will purchase the software from our or your website.
It doesn't matter how they purchase the game as long as this is done trough the e-commerce website that we're selling trough ( eSellerate ). If the client found out about our software from your website, your website gave the client a cookie. Cookies are recognized later ( maybe weeks later ) by the e-commerce website and your account will be credited with your commission.
How much income can you expect?
That depends on your site's traffic, audience and, of course, of the advertising space you'll dedicate for our software. Big, dedicated shareware sites make tons of money, well above 1000$ a month. But in order to maintain a big website a lot of work is required!!!
If you will maintain a small dedicated website and from your website will generate 10 sales per month for our Jigsaw game (for example) you'll get 10 sales * 25 USD * 40 % = 10 * 25 * 0.40 = 100 USD per month from our game alone. It really depends of how many visitors you have.
Which types of websites are not approved for the affiliate program?
We reject: adult content, illegal (like warez) sites and other sites of that kind. We also do not co-operate with spammers. You must be aware that if you want to advertise software on sites without software audience (for example a medical website) there is a relative small chance for you to earn a lot of money! Software and other entertainment sites (like jokes etc.) are much more efficient.
Our WARMEST recommendations
- Don't spam. It may be an efficient method for advertising but this road goes two ways. It WILL backfire.
- Don't advertise too much. Advertising may be the backbone of every economy structure but over-advertising will cause the popularity of your website to drop. Also, advertising of low quality products just for the money will also drop the confidence of the visitors (and more important, our confidence, the small software developers).
- If you have a personal website (our favorites) keep it that way!!! Personal websites have a special flavor; they are the salt and pepper of the internet!
- If you're just starting to do this, make your website PAD file compliant. This really cuts back on the registration time for us and the maintenance time for you.
