Identification:
Dark brown and light brown banded body with red edge on the scales.
Light brown to sand coloured head covered with small red spots.
Long and pointed dorsal and anal fins, extending almost to the tail.
Black tail with a red edge.
Temperature range:
25 - 30 Celsius (77 - 86 Fahrenheit).
Typical location:
Over and around seaward coral reefs.
Fishing methods:
Baitfishing with crab, snail, clam or mussel.
Fighting characteristics:
A powerful and fast fighter that never gives up.
