What no pictures!  I take a couple of days off and look what happens - noone bothers to take a photo of their catch. Well, suffice it to say the Capt. Kevin has some fear of the camera to begin with (we're lucky to get a snapshot of his catch every 3rd or 4th day as it is) he didn't even bother to take a photo the other day when he performed the tri-fecta - a limit of halibut, a limit of salmon, and a limit of lings. Capt. Bob, filling in on the Pursuit yesterday bagged a limit of halibut and then a full inside the bay limit of silvers (6 per angler) but, no picture

Well today was a bit of a weather day and both boats fished the bay for salmon catching limits of 36 and 48 silvers respectively and returning to the dock by 1:00 - but there again you'll just have to imagine that one folks because, you guessed it, there's no picture.

Limit of halibut, limit of lings, even a few rockfish - bent rods were the order of the day and these guys from Michigan and Minnesota hauled em in like champs! Matt caught the largest halibut of the day and some giant lings were released to be caught another day after the guys had their limit and were fishing for rockfish.

The Farmers were back taday for their annual halibut run after slaying kings all week over in western Ak. The halibut weren't too cooperative in the morning but action picked up in the middle of the day. Once again Mary landed the biggest fish of the day (not counting the giant skate she fought for 20 min. and released). We made a couple of furious drifts for lings to finish out the day.

Clint and the land-lovin gang from the BLM hit the water today for their annual halibut extraviganza. Halibut fishing started off with a flurry but unfortunately a couple of the nice ones we had hooked didn't make it to the boat. Mid-day was a bit slow for the 'buts but we managed a well rounded catch of pretty much anything and everything that swims in the Gulf of Ak - salmon, lingcod, black rockfish, yelloweye rockfish, and halibut. Unfortunately for me, Clint, who has been a very enjoyable client for the last several years is off to Wyoming soon and may not be back to fish again. I don't know if anyone has bothered to tell him - but there's no halibut in Wyoming!

Capt. Kevin pulled off the successful halibut/lingcod combo with some chickens and a few monster lings.

Today was the last day of fishing in Seward for the six "whopper-stoppers" from Californina and it was a good one. Throw in a couple of short-time local Sewardites and it was a heck of an entertaining day on the water. The bite was steady all day with many nice fish coming to the boat - mixed in was a limit of yelloweye rockfish and some smaller halibut which were released. After pounding the halibut we made a couple of drifts and picked up our limit of "bucket-mouths" (lingcod).

Wow, what a hog!! A slow day of halibut fishing was punctuated at the end of the day with one giant flattie!  Frank Baker visiting from Missoula, Montana hooked into this behemoth and worked the rod for nearly an hour to get the 293 pound fish up to the boat. 293 pounds breaks the record for a fish caught on one of my charters by a mere pound. But a pound is a pound and a new record now stands. Weighed a few hours after being caught the fish is sure to have been easily over 300lbs. fresh out of the water.

Along with the giant 'butt we also landed 5 chicken halibut, 6 yelloweye, 3 silvers, and a limit of 8 lingcod.

These guys call themselves "Meals on Reels" and again today they showed why. Capt. Bob put the Pursuit on some nice fish today including a limit of lingcod, yelloweye and a couple of halibut over a buck.

Team ProFish whacked a couple bruisers again today. A couple lings and a few silvers made a nice mixed bag.

Day two for the fishermen from Cali. and another great day. We did the combo-mombo today chasing halibut and salmon. The guys hooked up a couple of big halibut again today weighing in at 161, and 139 pounds respectively. Then it was off to pound the silvers. The bite was good today and we quickly netted an outside the bay limit of 3 each.
