Week Multiactivity Holiday |

Overview:
Dalyan has put together an exciting one week program which
takes in this entire area of outstanding beauty in an imaginative
and varied manner, an itinerary of which now follows:

DAY 1:
Transfer from Dalaman Airport to Dalyan. Welcome tour of
Dalyan with local guide giving information about the local history
and culture. Settle in to a local hotel.
DAY 2:
Trekking. The next day we walk over a hill to the bay of
Ekincik and its unspoilt beach. It is difficult to access by road
and so most visitors arrive by yacht. The route we take allows us
to explore the ancient ruins of Kaunos, with its Roman Baths, Acropolis,
harbour and many other ruins including a Medieval castle. We walk
through pine forests which hug the dramatic coastline and arrive
in Ekincik for a special picnic lunch followed by relaxing swimming
in the azure crystal waters of the Mediterranean. The journey back
is by local wooden boat, which takes one and a half hours along
the rugged coastline, around Iztuzu beach and winding along the
river under the ancient rock tombs to Dalyan.
DAY 3:
Jeep Safari. From Dalyan we travel past forests of the
frankincense tree before climbing the Boga Dagi 2000m mountain to
the high plateau village of Agla. Along the way we have the opportunity
to view the flora and fauna of the region and visit a special lake
where we have lunch. Wildflowers are plentiful in the springtime
and the cool mountain air of Agla provides a respite from the summer
heat of the coast. Overnight in tents on the high plateau of Agla,
a night full of stars, camp fire and a large BBQ.
DAY 4:
White water Rafting. Akkoprü is the small village
from where this exciting day will start. This village is situated
in the wilds of Turkey on the Dalaman river, being the best river
for white water rafting in Southern Turkey. The river flows all
year round, being at its most challenging in the spring time, and
consists of rapid, then pool, rapid, then pool and so on; the rapids
being of grades 3 and 4; the pools allowing plenty of time to relax,
swim, and. At the end of the day you can enjoy the film of today's
actions while having your lunch.
DAY 5:
Mountain Biking. From Akkropru we cycle through 50 km of
scenic landscapes and traditional Turkish villages to return to
Dalyan. Overnight in local hotel in Dalyan.

DAY 6:
Canyoning. An hour jeep ride takes us to a unique canyon.
We swim under waterfalls, in rock pools and scramble over boulders
until the going gets steeper. Then we use climbing gear to scale
shear waterfalls and huge boulders which block our path. The cool
air and the crashing sound of the cold, crystal, flowing water add
to the atmosphere and adventure of the canyon climb. After our descent
and return to Dalyan, we rest.
DAY 7:
Shopping in the local market is followed by the BBQ-star
trip. The local market has many stalls selling (genuine-fake) brand
name watches, clothes, leather goods, shoes and spices, all at extremely
cheap prices. On the boat trip we enjoy the hot springs and the
mud baths, meanwhile Bilal is cooking the fish on the BBQ.
DAY 8:
Reluctantly, we say good-bye and transfer back to the airport.
Price Excludes:
Plane tickets to Dalaman, drinks, food
Price includes: Hotel, breakfast, tent or village house,
camping dinner, professional guide, transfer, insurance, all tour

river, a four course lunch in a restaurant built out of wood on
top of a river, a typical Turkish family's house for tea, a secluded
beach, a mountain peak overlooking Dalyan, the delta and the surrounding
seas, just to mention a few. In between your stops you crash through
numerous fords and judder down some seemingly impossible tracks.
DAY 4:
Koycegiz Market Boat Tour. Cruise upstream from Dalyan
into the 12km long lake and swim in the calm warm volcanic waters.
Arrive in Koycegiz at a busy traditional village market and buy
ridiculously cheap clothes and jewelry. Have lunch by the lake and

the day, it is time to hit the road. During this trip you will make

at the river. Lunch will be in a small restaurant built on top of
a river. In the afternoon we will make a fast downhill run of 8
km along a mixture of dirt and tarmac roads to Dalyan. On the small
village roads back we will stop for tea with some locals. We arrive
back in Dalyan around 5:00 p.m.

DAY 6:
Sunrise Boat Tour. Wake up at 6:30 am and cruise down the
river and out to sea. The early morning sea is flat and calm and
abundant with fish. While cruising through the delta you can enjoy
the fresh home made cake and hot tea and coffee. After anchoring
in the quiet Bacardi Bay you can snorkel before enjoying the rich
Turkish breakfast on the boat. In the early afternoon we cruise
back to Dalyan making stops at the 4km long sandy beach for another
refreshing dive in the sea.
DAY 7:
Shopping in the local market. The local market has many
stalls selling (genuine-fake) brand name watches, clothes, leather

One
Week Mountain Biking Tour |
|
Overview:
Dalyan has put together an exciting one week biking program
which takes in this area of outstanding beauty in an imaginative
and varied manner, an itinerary of which follows. Every night is
spent in a hotel in Dalyan and each day explores a new part of this
spectacular corner of Turkey. The bikes we use are all comfortable,
new, 21 speed mountain bikes and a professional guide takes care
of you every day.

DAY 1:
Transfer from Dalaman Airport to Dalyan. Welcome tour of Dalyan
with local guide giving information about the local history and
culture. Settle in to a local hotel.
DAY 2:
Caretta Caretta Tour. 30km On the first day we cycle to the local
four and a half kilometer long beach, famously known as the Caretta
Caretta beach, where for millions of years the endangered turtles
have been nesting. The route is fairly straightforward apart from
one mountain where we stop to rest and enjoy lunch. The village
where we stop is called Gökbel and has fine views over the beach
and river delta.
DAY 3:
Village Tour. 55km This tour gives you a vivid insight into local
Turkish life. We visit numerous villages, sample their local cuisine,
tea and their generous amounts of warm hospitality. Cycling through
aromatic forests of Frankincense trees, orange trees and over many
fresh babbling brooks, we encounter the ancient village of Eskikoy,
with its Ottoman houses, mosque and old gardens. Stops will be made
for swimming in the ice cold river and shimmering warm lake.
DAY 4:
Koycegiz and Mud Bath Tour. 60km We sail up the river by traditional
Turkish fishing boat to the lake and then on to the small market
town of Köyceğiz which is situated on the Northern shores of the
lake. The journey takes us around the lake through gently sloping
cool forests on to the tiny settlement of Sultaniye. In Sultaniye
you can bathe in the relaxing hot springs where naturally heated
sulfurous waters come steaming up out of the ground. After lunch
we cycle further down the lake to the world famous Dalyan mud baths.
The naturally occurring mud bubbles up from the ground, and after
generous application to your skin and washing it off in the small
stream, your skin feels the softest it has ever been. Your skin’s
pores open and wrinkles are smoothed away, making you look ten years
younger! The last stop of the day is at the ancient city of Kaunos
where ruins from thousands of years of occupation of this site can
be explored. Old rowing boats take us the short journey back across
the river to Dalyan.
DAY 5:
Mountain Tour. 35km By jeep we take you 900m up Ölmez mountain.
At the top we are surrounded by historical ruins, built on the once
fabled mountain of Olympus. From here we look down through forests
and canyons to the delta and lake gleaming far below. Usually the
days are crystal clear in Turkey and so although a long long distance
away, more often than not the Greek island of Rhodes can be seen
on the horizon, as well as the bay of Marmaris. After a tea break
we cycle 35km down the mountain through forests and fields to arrive
for lunch in Ekincik, a small but stunning little village and beach.
After swimming we head back by boat to the Dalyan delta and the
town of Dalyan.
DAY 6:
Asi Koyu Tour. 50km The start is at a height of 450m on Bozburun
Hill overlooking Dalyan and the beach. This is the longest day,
but the most rewarding. The idyllic small bay of Asi Koyu is a remote
beach out of reach of all but the most determined tourists, as it
is found only by an experienced local guide who knows the country
tracks intimately. After ample swimming in the azure sea the ride
back is mountainous and will ensure a good sleep.
DAY 7:
Relax........ Shopping in the cheap local market for local crafts
and fruit is followed by a BBQ beach trip to Iztuzu beach where
we consume large quantities of finely prepared food by the larger
than life Ali. In the evening we go to a Hamam, or Turkish Bath,
where we have a sauna, skin exfoliation and massage, leaving us
feeling completely revitalised and fresh.
DAY 8:
Reluctantly, we say good-bye and transfer back to the airport.

to follow tour.

One
Week Photo Destination Holiday |
|
Overview:
There is a huge amount of variety in every Photo Destination holiday
and this is a typical week’s program. Holidays always start
on a Monday because this is the biggest transfer day at Dalaman
Airport with the widest variety of flights from the UK. Photography
is best in early morning and late afternoon light so we arrange
trips accordingly with rest and relaxation over the hours when the
sun is high in the sky.

DAY1:
On arrival you will be met
by a driver who has your name displayed on a board and will take
you to your accommodation. When the full party has arrived Stephen
will welcome you with a drink and everyone makes introductions.
We run through the events of the week.

DAY 2:
As this is your first proper day on holiday, we go easy on you with
a 9am start and a chance for a lie in! This is a day spent on a
boat and it’s a delightful introduction to the area if this
is your first visit to Turkey.

DAY 3:
Nothing beats walking for taking in the details of the changing
landscape, so today we take a trek into the hills around Gökbel
to the south of Dalyan. We leave early in the morning to avoid the
heat of the day and walk for around 5 hours in easy terrain. This
brings us out at Iztuzu Beach where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon
we take a boat to Kaunos, the 3000 year old Lycian ruin that lies
across the river from Dalyan. Fit members of the party may wish
to scramble up the hill behind Kaunos for spectacular views of Dalyan
in evening light.
DAY 4:
We like to take a special trip
up into the mountains at Lake Bafa which is about 3 hours drive
North of Dalyan. As a result we stay overnight in a lovely little
hotel called the Agora which has it’s own Turkish Bath or
Hammam. Because this is a small hotel you will have to share a room
for the night but we think you will agree that it’s worth
it.
We leave Dalyan early and stop off
in the Regional Capital of Mugla to take in the weekly market. Mugla
is no picture postcard destination but the market is traditional
and not for tourists. As a result there is great scope for shooting
moments of real Turkish life and we can stop to have breakfast.
Arriving at Bafa around lunchtime,
relax for a few hours and take in the ruins of Herakleia or snooze
in a hammock. As the afternoon light improves we take in the amazing
rock formations that look like something out of the Flintstones
or vintage Star Trek. We will have dinner on the terrace at the
Agora and make some time to relax in the Hammam.

DAY 5:
Another early start and a good
trek in the refreshing mountain air that will take around 5 hours.
This will be with a guide from the hotel and we will have a light
breakfast on the way provided by the Agora. If you don’t fancy
a walk, either relax in beautiful surroundings or take an optional
boat trip on the lake that can be organised with the hotel staff.
We will return to the hotel around lunchtime.
On our return to Dalyan we stop
off at Euromos, a deserted 5th Century BC city with a wonderful
Temple to the God Zeus amongst the trees. We will return to Dalyan
by dusk.
DAY 6:
Back in Dalyan, this is an easy day after all the traveling and
walking. We take an early boat trip inland to Koycegiz Lake through
the reed beds and onto the thermal springs and mud baths. You will
find some tourists here but also great photo opportunities as people
slap on mud and bathe in the hot, sulfurous spring water.
Saturday afternoon is market day
in Dalyan and although not a particularly great opportunity for
pictures it is an excellent spot for shopping and a real bargain.
This is a chance to put your bartering skills to the test. For adrenalin
junkies we can offer optional microlight flights over Dalyan or
tandem paragliding from a 2000m peak. These are actually not as
scary as they sound, but very exhilarating and wonderful fun.
DAY 7:
This is your last full day
and we like to go out on a high note with a Jeep safari to the 12
Islands. It’s an early start and we will spend most of the
day off-road on mountain tracks visiting places that cannot be used
by normal cars. This keeps us away from other tourists and it’s
a rather special feeling taking in some beautiful landscapes.
We stop for breakfast at the tiny
cove of Asiby Koyo and wind through the hills to Ala Gol, the White
Lake, before descending to the Bay of the 12 Islands. During the
hot part of the day we will relax at Kille Beach where there is
plenty of shade and very few other visitors. You have the option
of snorkeling , parasailing or even tearing around on a floating
banana which is guaranteed to raise a belly laugh (as well as a
belly full of salt water!). Lunch is provided at a nearby restaurant
under the trees with more opportunities to swim and relax.
As the sun sets the 12 Islands Bay is a unique area for stunning
landscapes and we wind through the mountains with a breathtaking
view at every turn.
DAY 8:
Back to Monday and your departure
day. There are no organised trips today but subject to departure
time we can review the photographic techniques discussed over the
week. You will be collected by taxi or comfortable minibus in time
for your return flight.

Price includes:
Return transfers from airport to accommodation by taxi or minibus;
All photographic trips by boat, Jeep or comfortable minibus. Boat
trips include meals; Dinner, bed and breakfast is included at Bafa
Lake; Tuition and guidance with Stephen Barnett; Your own private

end of the 5th day or if you need a bit more time on the 6th day
a small examination will be done. After you passed the test it is
time for a small under and upper water party.
DAY 6:
Free diving or an extra day instruction to get more confident.

DAY 7:
Jeep safari. What can you tell your friends about Turkey if you
have only seen the beautiful under water world? In one day you will
see a lot of the surrounding area of Dalyan. We go to small springs,
old villages, visit Turkish families to have a cup of tea with them.
Jump in the sea to have a swim and on top of this whole adventure
you will have a great view over Dalyan and the area (you can also
see the spots you have been diving) from the 600m high summit of
Gökbel.
DAY 8:
Reluctantly we say goodbye, transfer to the airport or you are lucky
and have another week or some more days in Dalyan.
Other certificates are also available:
Advanced Open Water, Wreck Diver and more. Please ask for more information
