Wow!!! Over 250 entries were received in the googlewhack a mambo competition in only 12 hours.
The winner was Lee Cher Yeong from Mosets with "mambo urping".
urp ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ûrp)
intr.v. Mississippi River Delta urped, urp·ing, urps - To vomit.
Of course it probably wont be a googlewhack anymore so Lee submitted the screenshot above to prove it. |

This email was received earlier this week from an extremely well respected author of Mac books..
"I just wanted to send a thank you for releasing the Mambo software. I had been fiddling with PHP-Nuke for about a week for a church web site, and after some frustration, decided to look elsewhere. After coming across your software, I installed it on the files on the web server and created the database, and the simplicity of configuring it was a simple joy, completely unlike anything I have done with PHP/MySQL systems before.
I'm looking forward to tinkering with this in the coming weeks. But before I dig into it, I just wanted to express my gratitude in making the installation so easy."

Mambo Knocks Out Firefox in the Open Source Shootout! |

Wednesday, 10 August 2005 |
The development team of Mambo is celebrating what amounts to it's most significant form of recognition by the Open Source software community, after last night winning the "Best Open Source Solution" prize.
The Mambo content management system defied the bookmakers by defeating Firefox, IBM and LTSP, when being judged for the best of the best at San Francisco LinuxWorld Conference and Expo, at the Moscone Center.
"Many observers are starting to take Mambo seriously as a business solution, let-alone a user solution," Mambo lead developer Andrew Eddie said. "The fact that Mambo can stand toe-to-toe with the big boys is not so much recognition we seek but it does highlight the maturity of Mambo in today's technology space."
Mambo had been competing against the highly acclaimed Mozilla Foundation's Firefox web browser, Linux Terminal Server Project and IBM's Derby project.

Run Digital Link Content Mambot released |
Open Source Software
|
Written by Robert Deutz
|
Tuesday, 09 August 2005 |
Run Digital has released a new Mambot which makes it very easy to link between Mambo content items. The easiest way is writing {rdlc title_from_the_content_item}, instead of the content title you could choose the title_alias. The third possibility is to specify the id from the content item. If you want to have an other text for the link as the content item title-alias or title (we use the title-alias as text for the link first), you can set up an alternative text. The link won’t display if a link is invalid or the user has not rights to see the content item. Short explanation about the usage (only in German) here and download here
