Buying A Home Building A Home Home Owner Services FAQs Real Estate Glossary Why Stratland Homes

Watching a single family home being built from start to finish is an exciting experience and we take pride in every aspect of construction. Over the years we have built strong relationships with some of the best vendors and contractors in the business and together we build homes of unsurpassed quality, design and function. Buying and building a new home can be a little bit overwhelming at first. Therefore, before construction begins, your Stratland Homes representative will schedule a pre-construction meeting with you. At this time, the construction process and the timeline will be explained because we want you to understand what will be happening at each stage of building. We will also answer any questions you may have at this time. After the pre-construction meeting, it is time to break ground on your new home. Throughout the building process you can contact your Stratland Homes representative with questions.

Stages of Construction - A Quick Outline

Stage One: Pouring the Foundation
Stage Two: Framing
Stage Three: Installation of the exterior sheathing, shingles, roofing and windows
Stage Four: Installation of Sheetrock, plumbing, air conditioning and heating
Stage Five: Installation of interior finishes including flooring, tile, doors, trim, cabinets, light fixtures and appliances
Stage Six: Installation of exterior finishes (brick, stone, stucco, vinyl, aluminum, concrete, or wood)
Stage Seven: Quality Assurance/Homebuilder Inspection
Stage Eight: Homebuyer Acceptance

Please note that the homebuilding process for condominiums and townhouses is different than that of a single family home. Ask your Stratland Homes sales representative for more details.
