- Dr. Colin
Tatem is Lord Abbot of The International Order of St. Cornelius The
Centurion, a Religious and Chivalric Order which accepts Members, men and
women, of all Christian denominations. Read about St. Cornelius in Acts of
The Apostles, Chapter 10, who later became a Bishop of the early Church.
Members are admitted to The Order of St. Cornelius as Associate (ASC),
Member (OSC), Companion and Chevalier (CSC). Persons who have given many
years of devoted service to their communities are admitted to The Order as
Companion / Chevalier Grand Cross.
Members are asked to pray often in their own homes, or wherever they may be
in the world; attend denominational worship services in their own churches,
and volunteer their time and talents to help those in need in their own
communities, and throughout the world. This is as our Lord Jesus Christ
taught us.
We encourage Members to send a report of their community work to the Abbot
every September, at: The Abbey of St. Cornelius, 12 Yates Ave, Newark, New
Jersey 07112, USA, in order that they may be considered for an Award of The
Order. Ten Community Service Awards are given annually. An International
Service Award is also given to a Member annually.
To apply for Membership, write to the Abbot at E-mail: LordAbbot@yahoo.com
giving your name and address, and a short resume. Members are encouraged to
make a gift of US$25.00 minimum, to assist The Order with postage and the
preparation of Membership Certificates, which will be sent to you by mail.
The Order of St. Cornelius charges no Joining Fee or Membership Dues. Join
us, Today!
There is much need in this troubled world for love and prayer. We invite you,
and all Christians,
to say the age-old prayer of the Monks. The Abbot prays this very short
prayer hundreds of times each day: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have
mercy on me, a sinner." Also, please remember to pray to God for peace in the
world, for all of God's children, and pray especially for the little ones, who
are our future. God Bless you, guide you and protect you, this day, and forever.
