Siletz River fishing offers up some of the best steelhead fishing found on the Oregon Coast. Only a cast away from Lincoln City, Oregon, the Siletz River not only has terrific steelhead options from December through March, but a fall run of chinook salmon which return in great numbers starting in September and running through November.

The river and bay is full of quality habitat giving salmon and steelhead ideal growing conditions before their migration to sea. With this in mind, it's no wonder steelhead in this pristine environment grow to over 20 pounds and are caught every winter season and chinook salmon to 50 pounds are taken every year.

Summer steelhead on the Siletz River are also available as it is one of the few coastal rivers that receive a native run and sustains a small recreational coastal fishery. Most fishing activity for steelhead takes place further upstream closer to the town of Siletz. Salmon anglers take advantage of the tidally influenced waters closer to Lincoln City and Kernville as chinook salmon are in their prime closer to the ocean before the big fall rains hit.
