welcome to mail us! copyright@theacap.com
Why this alliance?
We wish there were no need for Acap. But as the web - and the world
- look today, there is a need for us...
There are lots of artists on the web, all around the world, who
offer high quality original art for free. Most of them have a few
conditions that go with the use of their work; a link back, no bandwidth
stealing, a small fee for use of commercial pages etc. And most
people follow these rules; they are grateful and happy to be offered
graphics, music and scripts without paying for it.
But sadly enough, there are also people who refuse to follow them;
who take whatever they please, don't link back, alter the graphics
without obtaining permission and steal bandwidth. And this has become
a problem; many artists have become tired of being robbed and offended;
many don't know what to do when it happens. Some have given up,
and closed their free sites. Others may do the same in the future.
What is the idea?
The main idea with Acap is to join web artists together, whitch
will make us much stronger and give us a united voice to raise against
all kinds of copyright violence.
But we will also try to educate people in these subjects; we know
that many of the violators don't mean to do wrong - they just don't
understand that the rules are meant to be followed by everyone.
Who can join?
There are two main sections of Acap; one is for the artists, with
the web ring and member pages. This is where we meet and share our
experiences and advice.
The other section, eg this page and all pages linked from here,
are for everyone who are interested. If you want to support us,
please put up a link to us on your page! If you link to us, please
send us a mail with your
URL, and we'll link back to you on our 'Supporters'
page. If you are an artist and want to join, please go here
to read more.
Our services are open to all artists and they are free. If you have someone infringing on your copyright work and need help, please contact us. Although we have been very effective at helping artists around the world stop infringments against their work, every once in a while it must be taken to court. If you need an attorney, please check through the Law Firm Directory Attorney Search. You may also contact us to help you find a low cost copyright attorney who can help you.
What's new?
We now have a copyright question and answers board, please come by and post your questions. We now have 32 active members in the ring. We have also added a supporter's page.
Do you know of a site using someone else's work without credit? You
can report it here
