Crater Lake was formed when the ancient volcano Mt. Mazama blew up sending
rock and ash hundreds of miles. The Crater left from this explosion is now the
deepest lake in the world a near 2000-foot deep.
Deemed to be a national treasure and protected as Crater Lake
National Park and named one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Crater Lake has no outlets to release what is considered to be the purist water
on earth. However hundreds of springs leap from the ground on the mountains

The Mt. Ashland Ski Area is nestled in
the magnificent Siskiyou Mountains, the alpine gateway to the Pacific Northwest.
Mount Ashland is conveniently located halfway between San Francisco and
Portland; just 8 miles off Interstate 5. There is an annual snowfall of over 300
inches; plenty of snow for powder hounds and plenty of sun all winter long. The
ski area has 23 trails in addition to chute skiing in a glacial cirque called
the 'bowl'. The mountain, the people, and the quaint City of Ashland with its
fine dining and accommodations make a
winning vacation combination.
