G8 Gleneagles 2005

President Bush traveled to the United Kingdom to attend the G8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland on July 6-8. The G8 Summits bring together Leaders of the world's major industrial democracies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The European Union is also represented at the G8 Summits. At previous G8 Summits, Leaders have discussed a wide range of international economic, political, and security issues. The U.K. assumed the Presidency of the G8 on January 1, 2005.
