Driving Safe on Florida Roads
A few years ago we heard about a phenomenon called train surfing. The story was reported from Brazil. Apparently teens and really stupid older people ride on top of moving trains and try to dodge a variety of obstacles. This display of stupidity ended up with several people killed. Some would call this a Darwinian event. Unfortunately some Florida kids are even more stupid than those in Brazil.
On Sunday April 17, 2005 in Casselberry Florida a teenager fell off the hood of another teen's car. He was run over and killed. This is tragic. The teen was attempting to car surf. The act involves standing on the hood of a moving car and in effect surfing the car. This is a warning to anyone thinking of car surfing. Your chances of getting killed are greater than walking away. Car surfing is not funny, not impressive, and not smart.
If you know anyone participating in car surfing give them a heads up that it is about the most idiotic thing a person can do. And let the driver of the car know that they will likely be charged with a criminal act and could spend some serious time in jail.
