Operating Hours & Seasons

The Monument is open for hiking, snow shoeing and other similar outdoor activities. Access to the interior of Oregon Caves is only by guided tours. The cave tour schedule for the spring through fall of 2005 is as follows:

Spring:

March 19 - May 27 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM On the hour May 28 - June 17 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM On the hour

Summer:

June 18 - Sept 5 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Every half hour

Fall:

Sept 6- Oct 10 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM On the hour Oct 11- Oct 23 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM On the hour Oct 24 - Nov 27 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (10, 12, 2, 4) Closed Thanksgiving Day

Winter: Nov 28 - Mar 2006 Caves closed for the season. No Tours.

Getting There

Plane
Nearest airport is in Medford about 70 miles from the Monument

Car
Follow Highway 199 from Grants Pass, Oregon (Interstate 5) or Crescent City, California (Hwy 101) to Cave Junction. Turn south on Hwy 46 (Chevron station is on the corner) and follow this road for 20 miles to the monument. Parking in the summer is limited. Travelers are advised to get to the monument early (8:30-10am).

Bus
The nearest bus station is in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Public Transportation
A shuttle is available from Grants Pass to Cave Junction.

Getting Around

Vehicle access is available only to the historic district. Hiking on steep trails is the only other way to see the monument.
