paris
Paris is an old, a bit ill famed, but at the same time an enchanting tourist trap.
Paris is continuously full of life, full of remarkable art, glamorous
clothes and an unique mood & feel. The magic can be experienced
through open air market plazas, beautifully maintained parks, romantic,
narrow side streets, hours spent in tiny cafes...
Paris is tradition developed through centuries of both turbulent
and glorious history, as well as a scene where the old encounters
the new. On one side there are the finest wine shops in the world,
on the other haute couture boutiques, the aged walls of Notre Dame
& the futuristic architecture of Parc de la Villette , the relicts
of medieval history & celebrations of the new millennium.
Paris, the capitol of France is inhabited by over 2 mln people in
the city alone, while 10 mln in the whole metropolitan area, making
it one of the largest agglomerations in the world. The Seine flowing
from the east to the west cuts the city into two major parts, the
left-bank south of the river & the right-bank north of the river.
The left-bank with it's older architecture and narrow alleys is
traditionally associated with artists and intellectuals, while the
right-bank with wide streets and boutiques of famous fashion designers
represents new trends and the modern city.
Paris is administratively
divided into 20 quarters, concentrically arranged around the Louvre.
Most of the tourist attractions are concentrated in the city centre.
Paris is a world cultural centre and fashion capitol. Like in the
past, nowadays
Paris still creates trends the world later follows.
Within it's gates it houses several international institutions being
a city with great political significance.
The glamour and fame of
Paris lures annually 20 mln tourists, who
for at least a few days want to be a part of this great spectacle.
