Seward Alaska - A fisherman's paradise!
Seward Charter boat Association

Established 1996
Preserving and Promoting Seward, Alaska’s recreational fisheries.
A Fisherman's Paradise

Seward is a small coastal town located 122 land miles from the city of
Anchorage. Seward is known as the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park.

The waters around Seward are some of the most pristine and beautiful in the
world.  We fish in the Kenai Fjords National Park, Resurrection Bay, the
Gulf of Alaska, and in the entrance to Prince William Sound. These waters
are teeming with trophy halibut, lingcod, rockfish, and in season, hundreds
of thousands of Coho salmon. Typically, the halibut and rockfish are very
plentiful from mid-April until the end of September.  The Coho salmon are in
full force by early July and strong until early September. King Salmon can
be caught year round in Seward.  Every trip is a fantastic sightseeing
excursion. We regularly see whales, sea otters, Stellar sea lions, and an
incredible variety of sea birds.
The Seward Chamber of Commerce hosts two fishing tournaments the Seward
Halibut Jackpot Tournament and the Seward Silver Salmon Derby
The Halibut Jackpot Tournament runs from Mid May until early August. There
are great weekly prizes for fish that are closest to a predetermined weight
between 50 and 120 pounds. There are also random drawings for great prizes.
The Seward Silver Salmon Derby is one of Alaska's oldest and richest
tournaments. There are tagged salmon worth up to 10,000 dollars as well and
hundreds of prizes for a variety of categories.
