Joomplates released a new commercial Joomla and Mambo template.

The new MP Navajo template is made for online shops, portals, community pages and
other content based web pages. The template is optimized for screen resolutions
of 1024x768 px or more. The design  is base on a three colums layout, and comes
with a very colorful and bright look & feel.

The template works with Mambo 4.5.x (4.5.1, 4.5.2 and above) and Joomla 1.0.x and the structure supports six module positions (left, right, user1, user2, user3, banner).

Mamboday Italy is almost here, the event will be held in Portici, close to Naples, from 4 to 5 November 2005.

The two-day event will provide the Italian Mambo community the long-awaited opportunity  to meet up, put a face to the nicknames and discuss anything Mambo.

Over the two days, participants will be given a comprehensive understanding of Mambo as a content management system, its uses and functionality and there be lots of Mambo tips as well.

Mambo is an incredibly powerful and versatile open source web content management system (CMS). It comes straight "out of the box" with lots of goodies to get you started, like content syndication (RSS), ad management, online help, language packs, news manager, a WYSIWYG content editor and so on. But if a feature you want is missing--like a shopping cart, for instance--chances are you can get it by downloading one of the many freely-available extensions.

The Mambo Foundation today announced changes to its Third Party Developer membership category. “The current Third Party Developer level was creating confusion and misconceptions in the community,” said Ric Shreves, Director of Advocacy and PR for the Mambo Foundation. “While the original intention of the ‘Third-Party Developer Member’ category was to provide members with additional benefits, such as co-partnerships with the Foundation on components and to provide deeper insight and communication with the Mambo core development team, it has proven instead to be a magnet for criticism from the community”

New Mambo/Joomla Timesheet component released.....

Mambotastic Timesheets is a new component for Mambo 4.5.2 and above and Joomla 1.0 and above.

It gives Mambo and Joomla users a front end interface to enter and manage time spent on tasks using Mambo/Joomla as the base system.
