A Choice for A Real Change: OpenOffice.org 2.0 is the first open
source office suite to offer thorough support for the Open Document
Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) OASIS Standard. Review

Google isn't the only one jumping on the Sun software bandwagon, it seems.
Late last week, China's Lenovo Group said it will bundle Sun's StarOffice 8
software, based on OpenOffice.org, in Lenovo's latest ThinkPad R51e notebook.
The headline of Steve Hamm's blog rings true. Though it reads
much like an advert, a perusal is still worth the time if Flock
and Zimbra
are unfamiliar names.
Sun Microsystems's Simon Phipps announced today (Sept 2nd, 2005)
that Sun is retiring the Sun Industry Standards Source License (SISSL),
an OSI
approved Open Source software license.

NetBeans IDE 5.0 introduces comprehensive support for developing IDE modules and rich client applications based on the NetBeans platform, the new intuitive GUI builder Matisse, new and redesigned CVS support, Weblogic9 and JBoss 4 support, and a lot of editor enhancements.

OpenOffice.org announced the availability of the 2.0 beta version
of its open source office suite. Major highlights include the open standard
OASIS OpenDocument XML format as the default file format, Multi-pane

Release is available
