New North Carolina law promotes parole for more prisoners (Salisbury Post)
FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — North Carolina officials will be encouraged to parole more inmates under a new law that went unnoticed by some law enforcement and victims' advocacy groups as well as lawmakers.

After almost four months on the run from law enforcement, a man suspected of a rape in Jemison is finally behind bars. Eric Wade Conrad was arrested Thursday by officials in Cleveland County, NC who were acting on a tip as to his whereabouts.
