Steady progress is being made with building up the effectiveness of www.australianhomestay.com

            In September 2005 www.australianhomestay.com  received 4,797 individual visitors to the web site.  This was over 69% better than September 2004.

            Visits were received from 53 different countries compared to 44 in September 2004.

2.         Statistics.       

            The daily average visitor rate during September 2005 was over 159 compared to a daily average of 94 during September 2004. 

            The higher the daily visitor rate, the more likely it is that bookings will be the result.

            In support of this statement, confirmed forward bookings were received by Hosts in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in September 2005 compared to none being received in September 2004.

3.         General.

            In September 2005 our ongoing web site development program resulted in the introduction of ‘Route Pages’ to the web site.  As we visit regions in Australia, we construct a major Road Route each of which is described with text and a map, on a separate page of the web site.

            This new service encourages potential guests to read about the various main routes in Australia and to work through these pages to locate their accommodation in recommended areas on those routes. 

            Links then go direct to the Area Pages representing those areas.  Hosts in those areas are listed on these Area Pages with links to each individual Host’s own Home Page.

            The ‘Front’ or ‘Home’ Page of www.australianhomestay.com has been redesigned to reflect this new service and to make it even easier for web site visitors to quickly find what they want.

            More improvements will be implemented next month.
