Getting to the Liverpool Airport
Ways to get to Liverpool Airport
Like any other world class
city, Liverpool is well served by rail, air, sea and road.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the fastest growing airport
in Europe. However there are two main ways of travelling to
Liverpool from wherever you arrive in Britain. These are by
train or by coach.
Rail: The Northern Line connects Liverpool with
Ormskirk, Kirby, Southport and Hunts Cross, while the Wirral
line links Liverpool with West Kirby, Ellesmere Port, New
Brighton and Chester, each generally running every 15 minutes.
As a whole, the network constitutes one of the most frequent
commuter services outside London.
The local services operate out of Liverpool City Centre at
Liverpool Central, Moorfields, James Street and Lime Street,
the latter being the City's main train station, serving both
local and national routes.
The national routes connect with all major cities in the UK.
There is a taxi rank outside, and parking is available nearby.

Road: An excellent motorway network connects Liverpool
with the rest of the country. The M6 links to the city centre
via the M58, M56 or the M62. Outside peak traffic times
Manchester is just 45 minutes drive and London takes just over
4 hours.
Taxis: There are plenty of Hackney Cabs operating in
Liverpool, which can be hailed or picked up at one of the City
Center's Taxi ranks at Lime Street Station, James Street
Station, Adelphi Hotel, Whitechapel, Sir Thomas Street and
Chinatown. Alternatively, they can be booked by phone via
Dial-A-Cab Hackney Cabs on
