About Us

As a law enforcment body, The Missing Kids & Exploited Children Section of The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP)serves as the the focal point in recovering missing children via extending its assistance to school and communities in Malaysia. Using technology as a key enabler in solving cases, RMP's Missing Kids & Exploited Children Section coordinates and promotes a national integrated approach to reduce the incidence of missing persons in Malaysia.

Incorporated in 1997, the Missing Kids & Exploited Children Section, which is part of RMP's Planning/Crime Prevention Unit, aims to raise public awareness of ways to help prevent child abduction, molestation and sexual exploitation. RMP's Missing Kids & Exploited Children Section has worked on more than 16,464 (1/1/1997 - 31/08/2003) cases of missing and exploited children and helped recover more than 11,390 children. The section has witnessed a successful recovery rate from 30.82% to 69.18% today.

Through the cooperative efforts of the police and general public, it is hoped that effective preventative action can be utilized to reduce the incidences of the missing children.

Besides maintaining the country's law and oder, RMP preserves peace and security through a consolidated approach with foreign intelligence organization. Additionally, RMP's role extends to crime prevention and detection, apprehension and prosecution of offenders and collection of security intelligence.
