You are encouraged to wear sun protection, hats, comfortable shoes and clothes. Some of these are available at our gift shops.
A tote bag to carry supplies, your camera, change of clothes, sunscreen, towels and any souvenirs is handy.
Wear comfortable shoes. We recommend tennis shoes. The park is 250 acres, so expect to do a lot of walking. A hat or cap to shield the sun is a good idea in summer.
If you are planning on spending time at Lost Lagoon, our 5-acre water park, towels and a change of clothes are recommended. Lockers are available in many areas of the park.
Sign up early at the Reservations Center inside the front gate for one of our many behind-the-scenes tours.
Dine With Shamu is a wonderful way to enjoy a dinner buffet while experiencing a unique, close-up look at killer whales. Sign up early as Dine With Shamu sells out quickly.
If you bypass the first Shamu Show on the day of your visit, you'll circuit the park differently than the majority of guests. You will often experience quicker service at our restaurants or lighter crowds in other areas of the park.
The most popular rides, such as the roller coasters - "Steel Eel" and "The Great White" - open at 11 a.m. Plan on checking those out early to miss the crowds.
You can get a better seat when you arrive at the shows 20 minutes before start time.
Kids meals are offered at several restaurants, including Ski Side Café, Mango Joe's Café Olé and Rio Loco Bar-B-Que.
If the temperatures become extreme, check out the indoor animal habitats like Sharks/The Coral Reef or Penguin Encounter.
Please feed the animals. Check out the varying times for feeding dolphins, sea lions, and rainbow lorikeets.
