Volunteer Opportunities
The Boston Harbor Association
welcomes volunteers on a number of our projects and programs. Some of
our current opportunities are listed below. Please call our office
(617-482-1722) or email us if you are interested in volunteering.
Current Opportunities
Make A Difference!
Join The Boston Harbor Association in making a difference by
volunteering in one of the following ways:
Beach Clean-ups
Beach and waterfront Clean-ups are a great way to make a difference in your community.
Volunteer opportunities for Beach Clean-ups begin in late May
and run through early October 2005.
Join TBHA's efforts to make the Boston
Harbor Beaches the cleanest ever by volunteering with your
office, alumni group, or friends for a fun and fulfilling
afternoon. TBHA will provide gloves and trash bags for a
two-hour cleanup. Alternatively, join others at a clean-up
organized by The Boston Harbor Association. For more information or to schedule a clean-up, please contact The Boston Harbor Association at (617) 482-1722.
Responsible
Boating
Join TBHA in our efforts to keep Boston Harbor clean by
minimizing the amount of marine debris and pollution found in
the harbor through our responsible boating program. Marine
debris, boat discharge, fuel spills and improper selection of
cleaning materials all pose threats to Boston Harbor's future.
Boaters can help with our "Responsible Boating"
campaign to educate marinas. Contact TBHA at (617) 482-1722
for a free Revised Boaters' Guide to a Cleaner Boston Harbor.
Spring Harbor Bound
Career Speaker
Lend your knowledge and time this spring as a career speaker for
TBHA's Spring Harbor Bound program for inner city youth.
Spring Harbor Bound runs in conjunction with the Massachusetts Water
Resources Authority to provide an opportunity for high school
students to conduct hands-on water quality test on Boston
Harbor, tour the Deer Island wastewater treatment facility,
and learn about environmental and maritime careers and
merchant issues from local professionals. For more information or to volunteer to be a career speaker, please contact the Boston Harbor Association at (617) 482-1722.
HarborWalk Tours
Participate in one of TBHA's free HarborWalk tours, learn
about recent changes and improvements to Boston's HarborWalk,
and make recommendations on how public access can be improved.
Your comments, observations, and suggestions will be
incorporated into TBHA's ongoing efforts to make the
HarborWalk an inviting and enjoyable destination for all.
Children and adults, residents and visitors are all encouraged
to come along. For more information, please call The Boston
Harbor Association at (617) 482-1722.
