    Great music

The music for this film is phenomenal! If you like "old timey" music, you'll love this. Even my kids like it.

    One of the greats

I had never been particularly interested or even heard a great deal of bluegrass music before listening to the soundtrack to "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" so I felt pretty indifferent to it at the beginning. Upon repeated listenings, however, the album became like an old friend, always there to pick you up and oftentimes stun you with its honesty. This is a diverse, wonderful disc, full of tracks both familiar and obscure that are incredibly likeable in their lack of pretense and purity of production. "Down to the River to Pray" is as moving a spiritual as anything I've ever heard, while "Didn't leave Nobody but the Baby" is a perfect little lullaby for adults, both made even more spectacular by Alison Krauss' achingly perfect voice. The reason this album came out of left field to become such a smash hit is because it's just a simple album full of quality songs that you remember. It really is great stuff, and a vital addition to any music collection.

Exceptional clarity on soundtrack; variety of music from primitive to more standard bluegrass. Enjoy listening to it in the car.
