Genealogical enquiries relating to former Service personnel: On payment of a search fee, Service historical records branches will undertake a trace of an ex-serviceman/woman's history from the identification supplied by the applicant. If the record is located a summary of the Record of Service will be provided to the applicant. A non-refundable £30 flat-rate search fee is payable in advance for genealogical enquiries made other than by the widow/widower or their representative.
