Sudan and Kenya:  Deputy Secretary Zoellick's Travel
Deputy Secretary Zoellick is traveling to Kenya and Sudan to press for progress in the ongoing Sudanese peace process, an end to the violence in Darfur that threatens aid relief, and achievement of a political settlement of the Darfur crisis. [

Travel to Latin America

Secretary Rice accompanied President Bush to Latin America. After the conclusion of the Summit of the Americas, they visited Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvaa, and then Panama to meet with President Martin Torrijos Espino. [more from the trip]

Secretary To Visit Middle East and Asia
Secretary Rice will travel to the Middle East and Asia Nov. 10-21, 2005. She will visit Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and South Korea. Secretary Rice also will accompany President Bush on his visits to China and Mongolia. [full text]

U.S. Response to South Asia Earthquake
Assistant Secretary Wayne (Nov. 2): "[W]e are committed not only to stand beside Pakistan at this time of tragedy but ... to working with and standing with Pakistan in the long run as they are both rebuilding [and] also as they continue their very important efforts to build their economy up and create prosperity and stability over the longer term."
