The Regional Security Office at U.S. Embassy New Delhi reported the following:Summary:Six American citizens visiting the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir were attacked by a large crowd of angry Muslims after being accused of distributing Urdu-language pamphlets and cassettes promoting Christianity. The Americans were rescued by local police who protected them from the crowd, and escorted them out of the area for immediate return to Delhi.
