Identification:
Upper body brown. Sand coloured sides and a white belly.
Body, tail and fins covered with dark brown spots.
Very long caudal fin and large rounded pectoral fins.
Temperature range:
18 - 30 Celsius (65 - 86 Fahrenheit).
Typical location:
Over sand, rubble or coral bottoms of the continental as well as the insular shelves.
In narrow cracks and channels in reefs.
Fishing methods:
Bottom fishing with molluscs, fish or fish fillets.
Fighting characteristics:
A slow swimming, but tough fighter, that needs to be kept away from obstacles.
