Deputy Secretary Zoellick is traveling to Kenya and Sudan Nov. 6-11 to press for progress in the ongoing Sudanese peace process, an end to the violence in Darfur that threatens aid relief, and achievement of a political settlement of the Darfur crisis. Secretary Rice will travel to the Middle East and Asia from November 10-21, 2005. She will visit Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and South Korea. Secretary Rice also will accompany President Bush on his visits to China and Mongolia. [full text]
While in Bahrain, Secretary Rice will attend the Forum for the Future along with foreign ministers from across the BMENA region, the G8 and other partner countries to further reform in the areas of democracy, civil society and education.
