Support the American Library Association
The American Library Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization. Through the generous support of our members and friends, ALA is able to carry out its work as the leading advocate for the public’s right to a free and open information society. We seek ongoing philanthropic and sponsorship support so that we may continue advocating on behalf of libraries and library users, providing scholarships to students preparing to enter the library profession, promoting literacy and community outreach programs, and encouraging reading and continuing education in communities across America.
Interested donors can make an online credit card donation; send a check, payable to ALA, to the ALA Development Office at 50 E. Huron, Chicago IL 60611; or explore options for offering a deferred gift through the ALA Planned Giving Program. You can also donate through the ALA Tribute Fund if you are interested in making an honor or memorial gift.
We welcome both unrestricted gifts to ALA and gifts directed toward any ALA program, unit or area of interest. Contributions to ALA are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
