Secretary To Visit Middle East and Asia Secretary Rice is traveling to the Middle East and Asia from November 10-21, 2005. She is visiting Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and South Korea. Secretary Rice also will accompany President Bush on his visits to China and Mongolia. While in Bahrain, Secretary Rice will attend the Forum for the Future along with foreign ministers from across the BMENA region, the G8 and other partner countries to further reform in the areas of democracy, civil society and education.
Sudan and Kenya: Deputy Secretary Zoellick's Travel Deputy Secretary Zoellick (Nov. 9): "The fulfillment of The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) requires leaders from North and South to share responsibility for governance, to confront difficult decisions, and to keep forging compromises. Secretary Rice accompanied President Bush to Latin America. After the conclusion of the Summit of the Americas, they visited Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvaa, and then Panama to meet with President Martin Torrijos Espino. [more from the trip]
