Travel in air-conditioned comfort from Phoenix through the Sonoran Desert and on to the Grand Canyon, where you will be in awe of the magnificent beauty. Spend your time taking in the view from a number of different lookouts, before heading off to the historic Cameron Trading Post and lodge for the night. Enjoy the stark beauty of Monument Valley, before a relaxing float trip on the mighty Colorado River, through towering sandstone cliffs with a local Indian as your guide. A great getaway!

    Location:
    The tour picks up from most Valley Hotels in Phoenix. Airport pick-up is not available, however Open Road Tours can advise a hotel within 3 miles of the airport for passengers to join the tour.

    Time:
    Passengers will be picked-up from their hotel at approximately 6:30am, depending on the hotel location.

    Hotel Pickup:
    Complimentary pick-up service available from most Valley hotels in Phoenix. Please advise pick-up hotel at time of booking and call upon arrival in Phoenix to reconfirm pick-up time.

    Return Details:
    Return is to the original departure point at approximately 8:30pm

    Itinerary:
    Day One
    Travel through the Sonoran Desert and the red rock country of Sedona on the way to the Grand Canyon National Park. Spend the afternoon along the Canyon rim before heading to the historic Cameron Trading Post and Lodge. This evening, hear about the arts and crafts of Arizona's Native Americans from a local artist or craftsman.
    Overnight: Flagstaff - Cameron Lodge

    Day Two
    Have a leisurely breakfast before meeting your guide for a scenic journey across the vast Navajo Reservation on the way to Monument Valley Tribal Park. The scenery here was made famous by the many western movies filmed in the area. The highlight of the day is a tour on board special sightseeing vehiclesd through the Tribal Park. You'll see traditional Navajo hogans (dwellings) and see the pinnacles of the Valley up close. Later, travel to Page, Arizona near the shores of Lake Powell. The evening is free to stroll along the Lake and enjoy the views.
    Overnight: Page - Best Western or equivalent

    Day Three
    This morning, meet your guide and travel to the shores of the mighty Colorado River where you'll board special rafts for a scenic float trip. Towering sandstone cliffs, ancient petroglyphs and a tasty picnic lunch make this a fantastic day. Return to Phoenix at approximately 8:30pm.

  • Remember that the Grand Canyon is 20-25 degrees cooler than Phoenix, so layered clothing is suggested for winter months
  • Please limit luggage to carry-on size only. Any bags larger than 9" x 14" x 22" should be left with your hotel.
