April 25, 2005 - MP3 Sound in Your Car
AMP3 players are the craze with music lovers. They make it easy to take hundreds or thousands of songs with you. But wouldn't it be great if you could pump all that music through the sound system in your car? After all, you car is one of the best places to crank it up. Listening to your favorite Rock, Jazz, Country, or whatever you love can make a traffic jam almost disappear. Well connecting your Ipod or other MP3 player to your car sound system is easier than you think.
Most new car stereos come with an auxiliary input. The best time to take advantage of this is when you're installing a new system. We put a new Clarion pro audio system in one of our vehicles and the installer suggested adding an auxiliary cable. The cable hangs right under the dash. We just plug our Ipod or iRock in and bam we're jammin. By the way, our new unit has Sirius Satellite radio integrated so we also have 130 digital channels. If you don't plan on updating your sound system any time soon there's another easy alternative.
MP3 to Stereo - Wireless
Irock has a wireless music adapter that will pump the sound from just about any music source through your car or home stereo. There are two versions of the Beamit product. The irock 450FM will work with your car or home stereo. All you need is an MP3 player that has an output jack. At $39.00 it's a bargain. If you only want to take your MP3 tunes in your car consider the irock 440 FM that plugs into your cigarette lighter and is a dirt cheap $29.00. Taking your music collection with you is a great way to make your daily drive or long trips a lot more enjoyable.
