The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Philippines is carrying out a broad range of innovative programs to promote investment and good governmance to stimulate the economic growth and job creation needed to reduce poverty; achieve peace and prosperity in Mindanao and other conflict-affected areas; strengthen local governments; improve health and family planning services; improve management of threatened natural resources; provide clean and affordable energy; and increase access to and quality of education in disadvantaged areas. USAID/Philippines also responds to humanitarian emergencies such as those caused by natural disasters.
