Indian cuisine. Life in Birmingham has just got a little more delicious
- Cafe Lazeez has opened its stylish new restaurant in The Mailbox,
bringing award-winning cuisine, excellent service, and beautiful
presentation to the heart of the city. Cafe Lazeez has been on everyone's
'Best Of' lists for several years in London, with a menu of evolved
and traditional North Indian cuisine that is light and full of Eastern
flavour. Do not miss the fillets of talapia fish simmered in yoghurt
sauce or the barbecue feast for two served on a sizzler. The carrot
halva with ice-cream will round you off nicely. With great views

|
Description:
Ludlow’s
loss is Birmingham’s gain, as Glynn Purnell, former sous
chef at Hibiscus, has been tempted away to open this quality addition
to the ever-improving Birmingham eating out scene; it would have
seemed to have met with almost instant acclaim and approval. He
has joined Simon Semanski, with whom he worked previously at Simpson’s
in Kenilworth, to create this French orientated restaurant, offering
three course set menus at lunch and dinner with dishes like loin
of French veal, white beans and squid withconfit tomato or roast
salmon with pomme purée and a nage of green vegetables.

Rajdoot

|
Description:
Yes,
this is the same Rajdoot that used to be at Albert Street, now
transferred to its city centre location and doing brisk business.
However, there’s nothing brisk about the service and ambience
which is smooth and self assured, making for a restful and civilised
occasion. Rajdoot is one of those agreeable Indian restaurants
where the emphasis is on delicacy of approach, particularly when
it comes to reaching for the spices. Remember to include the Rajdoot
Platter, a starter dish for 2 made up of chicken shashlik, shish
kebab, tandoori chicken and samosa served with onion kulcha.
