Chetco River - report updated 11/1/2005
Click here for Chetco River Water Level
Chetco River flow rising on seasons first great rain.![]() Ok Sports fans! The Chetco River is coming up with good rains today, we have already recieved 1.75 inches and its just 9:00 am and raining hard. It is forcast to have showers or rain for the next 5 days. I fished the Chetco in floatable but low water conditions on Saturday the 29th and and Sunday the 30th with Dan Firestone and his 11 yr old son, Andy. We only pulled plugs from Loeb Park to Market Hole take out. On Saturday the river was at a fair level for low flow about 700 cfs. It was murky and we hooked three Kings landing one bright 27# for Andy. We saw a few fish on the float. There was only one other boat and we traded turns through holes. The other boat landed a monster buck of 50# plus and lost another which jumped with their plug in its jaw after breaking off that was larger, over 50#. We are excited that the Chetco River is ready. Give us a call we have dates open. 1-800-348-4138 The Chetco River should be full of Kings from now until Christmas, when Winter Steelhead apper. The gravel opperation on the Lower Chetco has dug hole down to bedrock this year creating some great looking holding water, expect good things from these drifts this year |
