Protect the Toxics Release Inventory - call to action

OMB Watch has issued an action alert calling attention to EPA's proposed changes to the Toxics Release Inventory. The organization announced that the effect of the EPA proposals would be "to dismantle the dismantle the Toxics Release Inventory Program, our nation's premier tool for notifying the public about toxics pollution".

OMB Watch / The Working Group on Community Right to Know have provided details on the EPA proposal here.

The group has issued an action alert to tell EPA to "call off its assault on our right to know" by sending a message about this issue to the public docket.

UN Climate Change Conference

Montreal is playing host to the largest intergovernmental conference on climate change since the 1997 conference in Kyoto. The the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention is being held in conjunction with the first meeting of the Conference of Parties to the Kyoto protocol. The conference is taking place from 28 November to 9 December 2005.
