Missy Marshall, Marshall-Tyler-Rausch, L.L.C.

Missy Marshall will discuss her role in this recent addition to the Garden. A principal of Marshall, Tyler and Rausch; Missy has been involved with master planning and garden design at the Chicago Botanic Garden for over 20 years. This lecture will cover design objectives, "environmental" considerations for this highly-exposed area adjacent to the Eden’s Expressway, and the dichotomy of working with a native habitat and a horticulture display.

Plant Selection
Peter Bristol, Joan O’Shaughnessy, and Galen Gates

Three Garden staff will talk about plant selection for this project. Considerations included: salt tolerance, the benefits of currently available plants versus new plant species, and the ease of establishing plants. A site-visit will provide greater clarification and close-up views of the project. Combined, these staff selected the trees, shrubs, perennials and native plants for this project.
