Campaign Background

At the Chicago Botanic Garden, thoughtful planning always precedes important initiatives. The Capital Campaign Plan is rooted in a planning process that began with the 1995 Strategic Plan, a document that articulated the Garden's direction for the following five years.

The Strategic Plan was followed by a Master Site Plan in 1996 and an updated long-range capital plan in 1998.

In 1999, the Strategic Plan was updated to outline the institutional priorities for the next decade. This planning paved the way for the current Campaign.

The Campaign for the Chicago Botanic Garden began in June 2000. The Campaign is supporting all facets of the Chicago Botanic Garden and has specific giving opportunities in a variety of areas.
