Saas Fee, France - ski resort review
Saas Fee is one of these ski resorts, which offer all mountain
attractions at high quality but are not as famous as St.
Moritz or Zermatt. This car-free ski resort built in traditional
style has everything skiers and boarders require. Wide choice
of accommodation from self-catered sport chalets and apartments
to luxury ski hotels shall satisfy everyone.
As far as skiing in Saas Fee is concerned, both skiers and
boarders will be satisfied. Saas Fee has ski runs for everyone.
Most of the beginner slopes are located directly in the
village and it will take just minutes to get higher for
a bit more difficult blue and green slopes. More difficult
ski runs are situated well above 2500 metres above sea level
what ensures good conditions even in the early and late
season. Taking a long run from the top to village is a must
- there is nothing more attractive than skiing down a long
trail with a vertical drop of more than 1700 metres. Advanced
skiers will be happy to take a guided off piste skiing.
Those, who would like to check where the professionals ski
shall try out the black FIS piste going down to the red
Plattjen run.
Apres ski in Saas Fee is attractive, too. Once you are done
with skiing you can choose from many restaurants for dinner,
multiple bars of an apres ski beer or drink and finally
spend a long night in one of resort's night clubs.
If we add that Saas Fee has an offer for non-skiers too, it makes
the resort a really complete one. Hiking trails begin directly
in the village, while mountains activities like tobogganing or
paragliding are easy to arrange within minutes.
