How to Apply

There are different application processes and deadlines for each student program, internship, and fellowship available at the U.S. Department of State. Some positions require you to be nominated for application; others you can initiate on your own. We suggest you read through the various opportunities to see which one is the best match for you. At the end of each description is information, or a link to information, that will describe in detail the position's specific qualifications, application processes, vacancy announcements, and deadlines. Spend some time with us on this site. You just might be taking the first step toward making an important and rewarding career decision.

Notice: We are experiencing delays up to several weeks for the delivery of U.S. Postal Service mail of ALL types (Express, Priority, Registered, etc.). Therefore, to ensure that delivery of your application meets the postmark deadline, we strongly urge you to send it via a commercial delivery service, such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. We also advise you to make a photocopy of all materials you send, for your own records.

Equal Opportunity Employer.
