A. Vital records and vital events are defined as birth, death, fetal deaths (stillbirth), induced termination of pregnancy, marriage and divorce certificates and reports. To receive a copy of a marriage, death or birth certificate, please visit Vital Records on the Department of Human Resources website.

Q. I have lost my Georgia driver's license, and I am temporarily out-of-state. Can I obtain a temporary license to drive until I return to Georgia?

A. Provided that you currently have a valid Georgia driver's license, you may request a 30-day, non-renewable temporary driver's permit. You may obtain another license at a Georgia Driver's License Facility by showing proper identification and paying the appropriate licensing fee. Contact the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety at (678) 413-8438 to request a 30-day permit.
