OFFICE OF POLICY AND EVALUATION–
EVALUATION DIVISION

Home > Office of Policy and Evaluation

The Evaluation Division administers outcome evaluations for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to assess the impact of Bureau programs and services. In essence, we attempt to answer the "So what?" question posed by the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 (GPRA). Findings from evaluations are used to improve the efficiency and enhance the effectiveness of bureau programs and services. By publicizing the evaluation results, we strive to demonstrate program accountability while informing the public about these programs.

We generally contract independent evaluators to design evaluations, collect, measure and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and report findings. We develop all projects in close consultation with the relevant bureau program offices, public diplomacy offices, U.S. embassies, and non-profit partner organizations.
