Applicants may be assessed for admission to Royal Roads University on the basis of their formal academic training or, where appropriate, on the skills, knowledge and background developed outside traditional learning structures. This learner-centred approach opens doors to higher learning for qualified candidates who otherwise might not meet traditional admission requirements, and thereby serves the needs of a diverse group of learners.
Ideal candidates include self-directed and highly motivated people who demonstrate high levels of program-specific knowledge and skills and who possess strong interpersonal, research, and communication skills.
There are a limited number of places in each program and entrance is competitive.
Flexible assessment/admissions process
Applicants who do not have the formal academic training to qualify for the desired program will be assessed according to the guidelines consistent with those of the British Columbia Council of Admissions and Transfer, Centre for Curriculum Transfer and Technology, the Provincial PLA Steering Committee, and the Provincial Institutional Coordinators Working Group.
