Admission Requirements
Royal Roads University seeks exceptional individuals committed to a high level of achievement in our programs. Admission to a degree program is based on criteria that ensure the highest standards of academic quality and student achievement. These include formal post-secondary education, life and/or work experience, and personal attributes.  All applications to Royal Roads are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Applications received after the deadline listed for the program may be deferred and considered for acceptance into the next program entry period. Applicants may apply online at http://www.pas.bc.ca/ or directly to RRU from the Apply to RRU webpage. Click here to get more information on how to apply to RRU.

Enrollment at the university is limited. Complete applications (i.e., all application documents have been received by the Admissions Office) will be processed and adjudicated on a rolling basis. Hence, programs may be filled prior to the application deadline. Owing to limitations in enrollment, the possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee that an applicant will be granted admission to a program or to the university. Each application for undergraduate and graduate programs must be accompanied by a $100 processing fee. This fee is non-refundable and will not be credited to the applicant's financial account in any circumstance.  Learners submitting transcripts from post secondary institutions outside of Canada must also submit a non-refundable $100 transcript evaluation fee or an evaluation prepared by the International Credential Evaluation Service or other approved evaluator.

The university reserves the right to refuse admission to any learner. Upon acceptance, all learners may be required to provide proof of medical and accident insurance coverage for the duration of their residential studies at the university.

Applications are not normally reviewed until the following information is received:
  • completed application form accompanied by the $100 application fee
  • letters of reference
  • official transcripts from prior post secondary institutions.  An official transcript is one that is forwarded directly to the Admissions Office of Royal Roads University by the issuing institution, or in the school's sealed envelope if provided by the applicant.  Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions are required for degree-seeking applicants.
  • current detailed resume, including formal education achievements, work experience, extra-curricular activities and community service
  • personal statement
